art director, designer,
brand strategist, maker of things. Over my career, I’ve built extensive experience with developing and maintaining design standards, as well as processes to improve functionality. My specialties include brand identity, email design, and user experiences. The use of an empathetic approach to design helps me build connections with audiences that lead to a holistic solution that provides impact and promotes engagement. The use of data and user behavior is the foundation to my design process. Through continuous exploration of human-centered design, I create solutions that are both effective in marketing and create an intentional, meaningful experience. While being a designer is fulfilling, I'm also passionate about design education and being a thought leader. As my expertise grew, I was given more and more opportunities to share my thoughts through speaking engagements, webinars, and published articles. My hope is that the more I share my work and use design to help remove the exclusion that is sometimes caused by design, I can increase its value in the world of marketing. It’s also important that I illuminate paths for young designers who may either feel like this career path isn't an option or that it even exists. When I need a break from being a designer, I turn to baking. As an avid, but amateur baker I use this practice to decompress from a world of decision-making and following pre-determined recipes to delicious rewards. While intuition and creative sometimes is needed, this a perfect way for me to let the left side of my brain drive for a bit. While not present on my resume, I have strong background in retail and visual merchandising. This experience developed my people skills, communication methods, team building, marketing techniques, and the emphasis of visual presentations in the world of sales. This past experience has been useful at working on teams and building lasting relationships with colleagues as well as customers. |
